Rhys’s Sky Fantasy Football Pre-Season thoughts and Mini League

Hello everyone and welcome back to my second season of writing Sky Fantasy Football blogs for Dream Team Tonic. This will be my third Season playing the Sky format of Fantasy Football and after finishing 423rd last season, I will be trying to Aim for my first ever top 100 finish and of course a spot on the Leaderboard by hopefully erasing and learning from my mistakes of the previous two seasons.

After stop my blogs early last season due to not having much time because of University commitments, I am delighted to announce that I have now graduated with a First Class honours so with that wrapped up, there will now be more time to focus on content for Sky Fantasy Football. In addition to Weekly Blogs here on Dream Team, I am pleased to announce that I will also be hosting my first ever free to enter Mini League for the duration of the season and also further Cash and Prize giveaways over on Twitter throughout the season to give something back to the Sky Community!

The Latest Draft

With around a week left until the kickoff of the new premier league season the draft building process is well underway. The pricing of players in this years game if good and it is fairly easy to build a team with a couple of premium players in it. I have created a potential shortlist of around 30-40 players that I plan on using throughout the Season and will be keeping an eye on them in the first few weeks to see how they perform. As this years first overhaul begins at the end of Gameweek 3 which is a week earlier than usual I am planning on using no transfers and have created the above team which features a number of highly owned and proven Sky fantasy assets and also covers them all important single captaincy days.

This draft however is likely to change subject to team news next week as I am still not sure if Virgil Van Dijk will start the season after returning from his long term injury and I might switch out Aaron Wan Bissaka for a Villa double up in defence, but any late changes to my draft I will post them on twitter before the season Kicks off.

Moving onto the two single game day’s before overhaul as they see an uninspiring curtain raiser as Brentford play Arsenal and Leicester vs West ham in the other single fixture in Game week two. Keeping these fixtures in mind I have chosen the highly owned Brentford talisman Ivan Toney (7.9 Million) as my captain choice as I am uninspired by any of the Arsenal fantasy assets especially with their tougher fixtures against Chelsea and Man City Before the Overhaul whereas Brentford play Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, so surely Toney is worth an early season punt for a goal or two. The other day is much more straight forward as I plan to captain Michail Antonio (8.8 Million) against Leicester as Westham’s new number 9 has looked bang in form during Pre season netting the goals. In the case that he will get injured before then I will have Wilfred Ndidi (7.5 Million) as a backup option who looks a real shrewd option at his price bracket for a steady stream of points throughout the season.

Gameweek 1 Captains
Friday 13th-Ivan Toney
Saturday 14th-Mohamed Salah/Bruno Fernandes
Sunday 15th-Michail Antonio
